创作背景：

1999年，林志炫与索尼音乐合约即将到期，推出新歌精选辑，选为主打的就是这首和专辑同名的单身情歌。但是一开始林志炫是相当抗拒这首歌的，他认为它旋律没有问题，但是原来的歌词不符合自己的人生观，林志炫的人生观从头到尾从来没有这么灰暗。

“找一个最爱的深爱的相爱的亲爱的人来告别单身，一个多情的痴情的绝情的无情的人来给我伤痕”这一段歌词也是来自林志炫的概念，所以歌词才会写，找一个来告别单身，但是更重要的是后面，是一个人来给你伤痕，因为林志炫觉得这个事情是难免的，很少有人是初恋就有圆满的结局 。
